Trauma heals completely — when nervous system,
beliefs and energy system work simultaneously.
Somatic Kinesiology is a body-centred method for trauma release and nervous system regulation, practised at the Academy of Life Balance in Zurich. It combines integrative kinesiology with somatic principles — the understanding that trauma is stored in the body, not the mind.
Somatic comes from the Greek soma — the body. Where methods like Somatic Experiencing® (SE) primarily address the nervous system, Somatic Kinesiology goes further: nervous system, beliefs and energy system are worked on simultaneously in a single session. That is the decisive difference.
We do not offer Somatic Experiencing — we go beyond SE. With a toolkit that integrates all three levels at once, clients need an average of 30–40% fewer sessions. And the change holds, because no level is left behind.
Every trauma leaves traces on three levels simultaneously. Treat only one and the others return.
Fight, flight, freeze — the body is still stuck in the moment of shock, even though the event is long past. The autonomic nervous system holds the reaction stored as a protective programme.
Via muscle testing we locate the exact moment. Targeted neurological balances release the alarm — without reliving, without re-traumatisation. The nervous system receives the signal: It's over.
Every trauma leaves beliefs: "I am not safe." "I can't trust anyone." "It's my fault." These beliefs arise as protection — and become a trap.
Kinesiology identifies these patterns precisely via muscle test and releases them — not through conversation, but through direct integration of body and cognitive system. The mind can let go because the body goes first.
Trauma blocks the flow of energy in the body — meridian pathways are interrupted, energy centres fall out of balance. This manifests as chronic exhaustion, heaviness or the diffuse feeling of "not quite being there".
Meridian balancing, energy point integration and chakra work restore the flow. Life energy can move freely again — through the whole body.
Somatic Experiencing® (SE) was developed by biologist Peter Levine and is one of the most recognised methods in body-oriented trauma therapy worldwide. SE holds that trauma arises from frozen survival reactions in the nervous system — and resolves when the body is allowed to gently complete that reaction. Evidence-based, effective, transformative for many people.
Somatic Kinesiology respects this foundation and builds on it. The difference: SE works on one level. Somatic Kinesiology works on three — simultaneously. Because experience shows: regulating only the nervous system while leaving beliefs and the energy system untouched often means the old pattern returns.
SE is an excellent method. Somatic Kinesiology builds on the same principles — and extends them by two further dimensions.
Imagine putting out a fire on one floor — but the two storeys above keep burning. That is exactly what happens when trauma work addresses only one dimension.
The nervous system calms down after SE — but the belief "I am not safe" remains. Or the energy flow is restored with craniosacral therapy — but the frozen body reaction in the nervous system is still there. The trauma returns: as anxiety, as pain without diagnosis, as exhaustion, as relationship patterns.
Somatic Kinesiology integrates all three levels in a single session. Nervous system, mind and energy system work in sync — more completely, because no floor is left burning. This is not theory. This is the difference clients feel who have already tried other methods.

The accident is over — but the nervous system isn't. Dizziness, neck pain, startle response weeks later. Somatic Kinesiology resets the system, often in one session.
Flashbacks, hypervigilance, emotional numbness. The polyvagal system is dysregulated. Three levels simultaneously — nervous system, beliefs, energy — bring lasting stability.
What was not processed in childhood shows up in adult life as patterns — in relationships, self-worth, body awareness. Somatic Kinesiology finds and dissolves the original connection.
Always on alert. Never truly relaxing. This is not a character trait — it's a nervous system in permanent alarm mode. The cause is often an old, never-processed shock.
Pain the doctor cannot explain. Stomach problems, headaches, tension that won't go away. Often an emotionally stored shock is the actual cause.
Every operation is a body trauma — anaesthesia, loss of control, pain. Somatic Kinesiology helps the system fully integrate the experience and accelerates recovery.
Same training — three years of integrative kinesiology at IKAMED Zurich, including psychopathology, neuromedicine and trauma work. Two completely different life backgrounds. Two approaches that complement rather than duplicate each other.
20 years in business and leadership taught Alessandra what truly burdens people — long before they speak. In somatic trauma work she reads the body through emotional resonance and physical presence. Her approach is still, warm and razor-sharp at the same time.
Law, neuromedicine, three years of physiognomy — Christoph understands the human system from multiple directions at once. In trauma work he recognises through body structure and expression where the system is stuck. His approach is analytical, direct and systemic.
You choose who you work with — or write to us and we'll work out together who fits your situation best.
You lie fully clothed on the treatment table. We briefly hear what's on your mind — not as talk therapy, but to find the entry point. No pressure to explain everything. The body shows the way.
Via kinesiological muscle testing we ask the system directly: Where is the shock held? Which level is affected? Which moment is frozen? The body answers more precisely than any self-report.
Neurological reflex points, meridian work, energy point integration, belief release — depending on what the body shows. Everything in one session, everything in dialogue with your system. No standard protocols imposed on the client.
After the balance, a moment of stillness. The nervous system integrates. Many clients feel it immediately: relief, deeper breathing, a sense of spaciousness. The shock is not suppressed — it is dissolved.
We briefly discuss what emerged and what the body will process over the coming days. A follow-up plan if needed — or simply the feedback that one session was enough.

Traumatic experiences — traumata of all kinds — leave traces far beyond memory. The autonomic nervous system responds to overwhelming events with fight, flight or freeze. In freeze, body-held activation energy is stored rather than discharged. This surplus survival energy remains in the nervous system — as trauma symptoms, as loss of the felt sense of safety, as chronic tension. The polyvagal system stays on guard. Body sensations like tingling, inner restlessness or a diffuse sense of threat are the language of this system.
Somatic Experiencing® (Peter Levine) translated this knowledge into a method: trauma sits in the nervous system, not the memory. Shock and trauma resolve as the body is gently allowed to discharge the frozen response. Self-regulation is re-established — not by talking about traumatic experiences, but through careful body-oriented work. SE is well established in Switzerland and worldwide — a serious, effective method.
Somatic Kinesiology builds on this foundation and goes further. In addition to nervous system regulation, outer trauma anchors in the energy field are dissolved, freeze on the cognitive level is released, and the felt sense of safety is anchored throughout the whole system. Those who are traumatised and seeking body-oriented, therapeutically effective trauma work in Switzerland — as an alternative or complement to SE or craniosacral therapy — find in Somatic Kinesiology a path to complete resolution of shock and trauma on all three levels.
No. Somatic Experiencing® is a specific, protected method by Peter Levine — we are not certified SE therapists and do not offer SE. Somatic Kinesiology is our own method, combining somatic principles with integrative kinesiology and going further: nervous system, beliefs and energy system simultaneously rather than one at a time. Those seeking a certified SE therapist can find one at se-ch.com. Those who want more than SE can offer — are in the right place here.
No. Somatic Kinesiology is an EMR-recognised complementary method, not state-recognised psychotherapy. It is body-centred trauma work — and works excellently alongside psychotherapeutic treatment. For severe psychiatric conditions we always recommend involving specialist practitioners.
It depends on the type and age of the trauma. Single accident traumas often resolve in one session. Complex or childhood trauma needs more time — typically 3–6 sessions. The three-level approach means more is integrated per session than with methods working on only one dimension.
Yes. We are EMR-registered (method 105). Most Swiss supplementary insurance plans reimburse 50–90% of costs. Check directly with your insurer — most of our clients pay significantly less than the full price.
No — and this is one of the biggest differences from talk-based methods. The muscle test communicates directly with the body without you having to verbally reconstruct the experience. There is no re-traumatisation through reliving.
Two days. Small group. Complete method transfer — from theory straight into practice. You learn how Somatic Kinesiology works on all three levels (nervous system, beliefs, energy system) and practise live with real people.
